Fitness for Duty Evaluations

Minimizing mental health risk

We evaluate employees’ fitness to successfully carry out their job duties.

We perform these evaluations when there are indications that a mental health condition may be impacting an employee’s ability to perform effectively or after an employee has experienced a critical incident.

Our standardized procedure ensures that every employee is treated with respect and held to the same standard as every other, using the same process, psychological tests, interpretive standards, and rationale for recommendations. We examine and report both strengths and weaknesses using a “whole person” approach, with recommendations following ten essential questions that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the EEOC have used to define a qualified medical record under the ADA. Our process meets all professional practice and specialty guidelines of the Psychological Services Section of the International Chiefs of Police and has been validated over two decades in more than 10,000 evaluations. We have Psychiatric consultants who can add additional expertise when medications or other medical issues arise.
